Internet Connection Settings and Network Configuration

If you have previously connected to the internet by any other means, such as a dial-up modem, you will need to change your internet options to ensure you connect with SWBB.

1) Click Start, select Settings and then Control Panel.

2) The Control Panel window will be displayed. Double-click the Internet Options icon.

3) The Internet Options window will be displayed. Click the Connections tab and choose Never Dial a Connection. If no connections have been set up these options will be greyed-out, just proceed to the next step.

4) Click the LAN Settings button. The Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window will appear. Make sure none of the boxes are checked and click OK.

5) Back in the Internet Properties window, click Apply then OK.

Network Configuration

1) On the desktop, click Start, select Settings and Control Panel.

2) Double-click the Network Connections icon.

3) When the Network Connections window appears, right-click Local Area Connection and select Properties.

4) Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties

5) Make sure Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are both ticked and click OK.

6) The Local Area Connection Properties window will be displayed again. Tick the Show icon in notification area when connected and click OK.
